iPhone X is the latest model to be released and it is very different from its predecessors. It is the first to do away with the home button and has an OLED screen. But, like any smartphone, it has several technical issues which include the following:
Face ID not working properly
Most users tend to unlock their smartphones with their faces but it has not been working perfectly for everyone lately especially after a software update. There have been numerous complaints from users on iMore forum and MacRumors forum. If you are experiencing this problem, make sure your environment is well lit and avoid wearing shades. Alternatively, you can turn the face ID off although it will make your device less secure.
There have also been complaints that the screen is failing to turn back on, fail to turn off or freezing intermittently. There are several reasons which can cause this but you need to force a restart, restore your factory settings after you’ve backed your data or take your device to an Apple store or an authorized repair shop.
This was reported soon after the release. Burn-in occurs when a static image is left on the screen for a long period of time and eventually get burned into the display permanently. To avoid having this problem, Apple recommends that you reduce your screen brightness through the control center. Alternatively, you can turn the auto-lock on to make sure that the screen is turned off when you are not using your phone.
Green line appearing on the screen
Some users have been seeing a green line either on the left or right side of the screen. This is common after using the device for a period of time and not immediately after turning the device on. Currently, Apple is aware of the problem and is replacing affected devices. In addition, the company is gathering data from affected devices to solve this problem permanently and avoid having it in future.
Crackling speakers at high volume
The same problems have been reported from previous models e.g. the iPhone 8 and it was mainly attributed to software issues. It is not clear whether it is a software or a hardware issue in iPhone X although Apple is looking at it. If you are experiencing this problem, avoid using high volume and use your ear pods whenever you are listening to music or watching videos.
